Labour Party Split

Pass me another Labour Party, this one’s split

On writing the blog post I always wanted to write and how Seema Chandwani wrote it instead

The UK Labour Party has been reborn, and this time it is as a straightforward democratic Socialist party under the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn.

The personal battles he has faced, the insults and assaults on his character and his politics have been relentless during the 2017 GE campaign.  I suppose we should have expected it, after all its a really weird phenomenon to see a politician displaying complete honesty and integrity these days.

“Good grief, where will it end, he will be coming up with all manner of policies next and actually intend to implement them…. doesn’t he know this is Westminster? Where is the spin and the character assassination? Everybody knows that you cannot take things at face value in British politics, we don’t expect people to say things they actually mean, it is all about saying stuff we just think the voters want to hear” ( Anonymous  Tory MP)

Sadly, the most toxic of the criticism and denigration heaped upon Corbyn came from within his own party. I have frequently sat before this keyboard, mulling over the split within the Labour Party politics, often glowing incandescently with rage at the vile residues left behind from the Blair project and its self opinionated and oh so entitled adherents. {The likes of Tom Watson and Adolph Mandelson alone have caused me to increase  my blood pressure meds from 150 mg to 300 mg.}

So this morning, cup of tea in hand, 300 mg ready to swallow, and there I was, working up a lovely head of steam with all the intentions of writing a snorter of an article for the Dangerous Globe. As is so often the case these days, events of the post-election period have kept me busy just trying to keep track of Mrs May and her amazing capacity to bugger up everything she touches.

Then…..a tweet arrived…………………..

Seema Chandwani had beaten me to the starting line. She had already written “my snorter”, and what a great piece of work it is. I could NOT have written anything even close.

It is everything I have ever felt about the rift in the Labour party and the abominable legacy left by New Labour

I strongly urge you to read it, here you go
